GATE is a program for students determined to be academically talented.  At Hamilton, these students are clustered together at each grade level in a class with a GATE certified teacher in order to provide them with instruction that keeps them challenged and engaged and enables them to excel academically.  Currently all students are tested for the GATE Program at the end second and fifth grades; or by teacher or parent request.  (Please note that the District is considering changing the grade levels at which GATE testing is done.)

GATE Club (4^th-6^th grade) 

Last year a GATE Club was piloted for our 5th graders and will be expanded this year to include grades 4th-6th. The club meets Friday mornings 8am-9am and is run by a volunteer parent advisor.  Parents and community members are brought in to instruct the children in things that they have identified as areas of interest.  Last year the club explored computer programming, chemical reactions, catapults, grammar, and animation.  If you would like more information or are interested in presenting for the club please contact us at info@bobcatbuzz.com.

Meeting Schedule

Students who are identified as English Language Learners are provided with additional educational resources to assist them in their acquisition and mastery over the English language. Parents/Guardians should contact their child’s teacher for more information on services available for English Language Learners and their families.

• The Pasadena Unified School District provides Special Education services to children identified as having special needs as young as two years old. The extent of participation in services is dependent on the needs identified for each individual child and may range from areas such as weekly speech therapy sessions, to ongoing RSP services, to placement in a Special Education classroom.
• Parents who feel that their child may be in need of Special Education services are encouraged to discuss this with their child’s teacher or with school administrators so that a referral can be made.
• Parents/Guardians are encouraged to speak with their child’s teacher with any questions or for more information about any of the programs provided at the school.
