Welcome to a brand new school year, filled with endless possibilities! I am extremely excited to join the wonderful team here at Hamilton Elementary. I look forward to building relationships and creating a solid foundation for many years to come.

We have many accomplishments to celebrate here at Hamilton, including our 2008 California Distinguished School Award and a continuous five year double digit improvement on our Academic Performance Index, bringing us to an API score of 868. Our most recent and notable accomplishment is being the first elementary school in Pasadena Unified honored with The 2009 National Blue Ribbon Award; one of 314 schools in the nation and only 30 in the state of California.

As Hamilton’s principal, I intend to provide support and instructional leadership by continuing our clear focus on student data and student achievement. As we move into the 2009-2010 school year, I am excited about the quality of rigorous instructional experiences, which recognize, support and maintain high expectations for all our students.

The teachers and support staff at Hamilton Elementary are committed to ensuring that each student is challenged, nurtured and is provided a safe learning experience. Our vision at Hamilton is to create life long learners. We believe that without exception, all children are special. The staff at Hamilton, have shown throughout the years, how completely committed they are to ensuring the success of all of our students. They work collaboratively and professionally in an effort to engage students in quality learning opportunities.

As I have walked through classes, I have seen the way that students are encouraged to value education and the opportunities that a quality education will provide them in the future.
