The Hamilton Elementary School Math/Science/Technology Academy culminates each spring with the Hamilton Science Fair where students put into practice the skills and knowledge they have acquired throughout the school year. Students participate in the scientific process as they ask a question, test their hypothesis, and draw conclusions based on their experiments.
The purpose of the Science Fair is to stimulate an interest in science. This is designed to be a fun experience for students and their families with the most important aspect being the learning process that each child experiences through the completion of his/her project.
All students in grades 4-6 are required to prepare their own Science Fair project outside of class time with parental guidance. Research time and assistance is also available during computer lab.
Students in grades K-3 prepare a project to enter as a class group; students who are interested may also prepare their own individual project to submit.
All participating students are provided with a tri-fold project display board. Students are encouraged to think of projects on their own that will utilize items they already have at home. The school does not promote spending large amounts of money on the projects.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or email Mrs. Erika Cooper.
