Green Team Interest Form for 2009-2010
2009-2010 Club Highlights
- Their first feat was to work in the Bobcat Garden. The Green Team has already begun cleaning-up the garden behind B-1. They have watered, weeded, cleaned out trash, and started a compost pile.
- Inside the school they have painted recycling bins that will soon be given to teachers for use in their classrooms.
- Also, their first newsletter and blog postings are in the works.
- Their biggest accomplishment so far has been the collection of shoes for the people of Haiti. With the help of their Hamilton friends and families, over 400 pairs of shoes will be given to Soles4Souls and then directly distributed to the Haitian people.
- Their next endeavor is fundraising. Keep your eyes open in the next few weeks for Green Team members that will be selling recycled Smencils (smelly pencils)!

think in a new language, and become aware of
different cultures.
GOAL
Build skills in a new language.
OUTCOME
Students are able to interact comfortably with native-speakers. They are able to converse, sing songs, play games, take part in small role-plays according to their age level and individual talents and ability in the target language.
- Exposes to sounds and rhythms of the language
- Learn basic vocabulary related to themselves and their immediate surroundings
- Understand and produce short phrases
- Can use the language for basic communication needs
Learning a new language makes
anything possible.
Think of language classes as a small investment with a big payoff for the future. Studies show that children who learn a new language score higher on standardized tests and are more flexible at problem solving – enhancing their future education and career opportunities.
